RESPONSIBILITIES OF ENTRY LEVEL ENGINEERS:

ENGINEER LEVEL 1

• Participate in the design, development, testing, and implementation of control and information applications
• Develop technical specifications
• Write technical documents
• Oversee equipment installation as needed
• Travel to clients to provide commissioning and operational support as needed
• Work on a variety of project teams
• Work in a variety of industries

ENGINEER LEVEL 2 (In addition to Engineer Level 1 responsibilities) 

• Provide system design, development and testing on new technologies
• Perform programming and engineering tasks in support of all stages of a project
• Assist in the development and writing of project proposals
• Develop and build relationships with customers, suppliers, key vendors and project team members
• Seek new opportunities with new & existing customers
• Develop technical specifications
• Mentor Engineer Level 1 employees

JOB REQUIREMENTS OF ENTRY LEVEL ENGINEERS: 

ENGINEER LEVEL 1 (0 – 3 years of relevant experience)

• B.S. in Electrical or Computer Engineering, Electronics, Computer Science or Manufacturing
• Demonstrates interest and success in technical activities
• Exhibits motivation and initiative to continuously expand technical knowledge and skills
• Possess strong customer service skills

ENGINEER LEVEL 2 (3 – 5 years of relevant experience)

 In addition to the above requirements:

• Possess several years of experience with multiple technologies at a broad range of customers
• Exhibit high competence with fundamental programming and commissioning of systems containing industrial controllers, computers and network equipment
• Has technical project-based experience and an awareness of project management techniques and methodologies
• Exhibits a creative and innovative mindset when solving customers problems

REQUIRED SKILLS OF ENTRY LEVEL ENGINEERS:

ENGINEER LEVEL 1

• Quickly learns new technologies
• Grasps problem-solving methodologies
• Programming skills
• Understands complex system designs
• Can prioritize and manage work efficiently across multiple projects and customers

ENGINEER LEVEL 2 (In addition to Engineer Level 1 skills)

• Experience in manufacturing, automation, industrial controls, and information systems
• Ability to creatively solve customer problems
• Ability to design systems based upon previously used designs

OTHER SKILLS/ABILITIES REQUIRED OF ENGINEER LEVELS 1 and 2:

• Results-oriented
• Solid verbal and written communication skills
• Good technical writing skills
• Good customer service skills
• Can work in teams or independently
